As many of you know, I’ve been Joey’s “Big Brother” since 2005. Well, I haven’t updated anything on him in quite some time due to problems on his end.
Around July of 2007, Joe moved in with a new family that turned out to be a horrible living environment. After serious complications in July 2008 and nowhere to turn, he came to me for help.
I took Joe out of his home on July 21st and put him into my mothers home where he’s been ever since. Since then, we’ve spent alot of time talking about important things in life and what being a man is really about.
I’m proud to say that after a little time and dedication, Joseph is now legally my little brother. Today, after 8 hours of sitting in a courtroom, my mother gained legal custody of Joseph. He is already working and starts a new high school next week.
Finally, Joe has a safe and great living environment.
Last week, I traveled south to Cape Hatteras, NC with 3 of my friends. Mike, Rich, Frank and I left on Wednesday afternoon and reached our campsite close to midnight.
The conditions were lousy for surfing, but the weather was perfect for relaxing. We relaxed, partied and talked about old memories.
I thought I would display some of the recent work I’ve done for Allstone. Below are some new additions to my portfolio. This update includes HTML newsletters that are sent via email to our customers scattered throughout the United States.
These designs combine my photography, graphic design and knowledge of coding html emails.
This past weekend, Julie and I spent time down in Florida visiting my father and his wife. Our flight left on-time, Thursday afternoon. We arrived in Ft. Meyers to a hot and very humid night. My father took us to a great BBQ joint called “Bubbas” which offered massive amounts of food and live music.
The next morning, I was up and off with my dad to prepare the boat for a night of fireworks on the water. We spent the morning washing the boat in the sun. Afterwards, we relaxed by the pool and kicked back a few beers. Later that afternoon, we would join 2 other couples and set off into the water. A gorgeous sun set as we headed north. Our boat was anchored a mere 1000′ away from a barge which set off a beautiful firework show. We carried the night away drinking champagne and listening to Bruce Sprinsteen’s “Born in the USA”.
On Saturday morning, we took our sweet time getting out of bed and enjoyed a nice breakfast. Instead of taking the boat, we drove to a private beach where we waded in 85 degree, blue water. Later that evening, we went to a bar/restaurant which offered over a hundred beers from around the world.
Sunday morning, Julie took her rental car north toward Clearwater to visit her Great Aunt. Shortly after, my father and I headed off in his boat to explore the water. The sun was shining and we were surrounded by dozens of Dolphins which swam around us in the blue water. After a nice dinner later that day, my dad drove us to the airport where we said our goodbyes’. The trip was really great and much needed.
My friend, Scott Fairlamb, who is a professional boxer has launched his new website. It’s still under development, but check back often to see video and new photos.
Reminds me of the days where I worked at EAC in Teterboro, NJ. We would play video games, set booby traps to desks and take 2 hour lunch breaks at the bar. Read the rest of this entry »
This past weekend was very eventful. It started off on Thursday evening when my boss had given me and Julie tickets to a broadway show that he was unable to use. The show, “The Country Girl,” starred Morgan Freeman, Frances McDormand and Peter Gallagher. It was an absolutely incredible display of fine acting. Our seats were very close and it was almost as if you were watching a movie. A great show that I recommend everyone witnessing.
On Saturday morning, I was picked up by LJ at 6am to head toward Manasquan Inlet for a day of surfing. I grabbed an egg sandwich and coffee as we headed out and enjoyed the quick drive south. As we arrived at the surfing location, I had realized I forgot my wetsuit. I was so angry at myself and decided that I would dip into the water in my shorts only. To my surprise, the water was warm! I was able to surf all morning in just a pair of shorts, while 90% of the people in the water, including LJ, wore wetsuits. Having a wetsuit would have made my experience a bit more enjoyable, but once the sun came out everything was fine. We stayed in the water until 11am and then headed out to get some fish tacos and visit Phil, who was playing in a Volleyball tournament in Point Pleasant.
Later that day, Julie and I headed south to the PNC center for a Brad Paisley concert, which she had previously gotten me for my birthday. The seats were excellent and the first time that we had been that close at PNC. Julie made friends with a nearby group in the parking lot, so we played drinking games until it was time to head in. We witnessed the opening acts of Chuck Wicks and Jewel. Brad had come on at 9pm and performed until about 11. His show was fantastic and had the entire stadium singing along.
